http://www.flickr.com/groups/automotivephotographers/

Please join if you haven't done so already.

This group is being admin'd by myself and 360Photographer (Will) and we're being highly selective of the being approved for the group. We're actually currently re-evaluating the photos currently in the pool.

In less than 24hrs, the group has nearly 500 members, and the pictures in the pool so far are pretty top notch.

It would be awesome to see some bigger names in their, Easton, I'm calling you out friend.

Thanks everyone!

Thank ya Josh. I promise I'll be fair. After all, my automotive photography is clearly my weakest portfolio. I do want to establish a set of minimum requirements for images to make it into the group. It would just be nice to be able to refer a photographer to a document and show why we decided not to allow an image.

This is kind of what I was thinking. Most of you all are better than I at automotive photography, so you tell me if this list makes sense. I based it off of the requirements that Istock uses, but should we add some that are automotive specific? I'm open to recommendations.

Automotive Photographers for Hire reserves the right to decline files in its discretion, including reasons based on the following criteria:

* Poor Focus
* Poor Lighting
* Excessive Noise, Grain & Color Distortion
* Compression Artifacts
* Over Filtering
* Poor Isolation & Cropping
* Dust & Debris in Scans
* Upsampling or Rezzing up Images
* Poor Composition
* Poor Composition
* Excessive or substandard editing

I'm almost sure you get an automated message letting you know. If you don't see your photo in the pool, it just means the photo is still waiting to be reviewed.

I wasn't really involved in the formation of the group, so I'm not entirely sure of the main objective of the group, but it is my understanding that this is supposed to be an exclusive group. Somewhere to display the best images that Flickr has to offer from professional automotive photographers. I don't think the idea should be to submit a boatload of your images with the hopes that some get approved. I would caution everyone to take their time selecting which images out of their portfolio they choose to submit. I've submitted 4 so far, but I realized shortly after that one of the 4 didn't really represent my best work, so I deleted it. I probably won't submit any more from my current portfolio.
