Dieselstation Car Forums _ Frozen _ TVR Sagaris

Posted by: marcos_eirik Dec 26 2004, 08:31 AM

Here it is... A car as mad as Marlyn Manson with a chainsaw. The TVR sagaris is based on the T350c's underpinnings and takes great benefit from that, being more "forgiving" than the Tuscan, but equally as hard and brutal. The looks, well err... They are as raw as beef tartan and as brutal and vicious as a axemurder. Sometimes I'm wondering what TVR stands for, I know it's short for TreVoR, but this time it must certainly mean "Threatening Vicious Ride" or somehing. In therms of bizarre and extreme styling only one thing comes close, the Bladerunner boat, but thats on water so the Sagaris really makes itself with those extreme styling cues. And it doesen't stop there, the Sagaris has performance to mach its looks too, as you can see down there... (I'm not plugging, I'm just telling the truth...) wink.gif

The front of the car screams "I'm gonna kick youre but, hard!!" with it's angry shaped headlights and ribs in the radiator intake. The Sagaris, like the T350 doesent have a center radiator intake, whitch laets it pounch through the air more easyly...

The side of the car is, like the Typhon the work of an aerodynamicist, with the roofline specially designed for better airflow over the car. The bump on the roof is there to give room for a wearing a crash helmet, like in a GT40. All the louvers and "axecuts" on the Sagaris is there to releve airpressure in the wheelarches, hence the bonnet, on top of the front wheelarches, in front of the door, at the rear wheelarches. Like the Typhon the side of the Sagaris is kept clean with no doorhandles, just a button under the mirror.

The back of the sagaris is likely the only thing you will see of it if you try to race one... It shares much of the design from the T350, with its boomerang shaped rear lights. Also here you can see some work of aerodynamics. The flat undertray exits at the back, thats why the exhaust exits at the side of the car.

The interior of the Sagaris is based much on the univerially acclaimed T350 and Tamora, and is all to the better for that... It has both digital and analogue readouts for engine revs and speed and a switchable multi function display. And elsewhere it is TVR as usual; Crazy handstiched leather spangled with beautifully crafted switchgear. Every panel, nut, bolt and screw is made in Britain, more specifically Blackpool...

The engine in the Sagaris is a tweaked DOHC 4,0 litre version of the one you find in the T350c, its brutal and powerful using a racing recipe. There was some debate about wherther they should use the AJP8 racing V8 from the Cerbera, but they found out that it was a bit old fashioned with SOHC... >So the desicion fell on the Speed Six engine that came along with the Tuscan in 1997...

Do you wonder why it's called the Sagaris...? Well, if you look at it you can see it looks like somone has gone bersherk on it with an axe... And, DING... It's named up after an old battle axe used by the norwegian vikings. The Sagaris battle axe is described as; light, compact, nimble, razorsharp and can inflict serious damage on your foe. Now thats a cool footage...

Well, there we are... How can this be anything else than sub zero...? If you think so, let us know why...

Posted by: shd Dec 26 2004, 09:25 AM

Just look at it, anything that mad has to be frozen.

Posted by: marcos_eirik Dec 26 2004, 09:36 AM

The importent thing about this car is the karma... When it drives past you can love it or hate it... But you're not gonna ignore it. I think it's zero deg kelvin and as cool as liquid nitrogen... thumbs_up.gif

Posted by: jostyrostelli Dec 26 2004, 09:47 AM

It is a Really beautiful car at least without the vents...

IMHO

Posted by: Renesis Dec 26 2004, 10:14 AM

Sub Zero

Posted by: clarkma5 Dec 26 2004, 10:36 AM

It's so garish that it's not as cool as the T350.

But it's still cool.

Posted by: DakianDelomast Dec 26 2004, 11:16 AM

This is undoubtably one of the coolest and most wonderful cars being sold today.

Huge horsepower, light weight, Clutch and stick manual, no electronic bullshit, 100% functional aerodynamics. This car is about as hardcore of a racecar as you can get to drive on the street without a open wheeled 7 replica or a DIY job.

Cooler than the DB9.

Well said. I agree completely.

ew. thumbs_down.gif

Posted by: Black RSX Dec 26 2004, 10:03 PM

Cool.

It would be Frozen, but someone needs to something about the back end on that... Not digging the back exhaust at all

Posted by: Viggen Dec 27 2004, 02:44 AM

As if the designer had the design pefect the first time around, but didn't like the way the fenders flow so he took an axe into it to vent his frustration.

What a mess. thumbs_down.gif

Posted by: is2scooby Dec 27 2004, 03:07 AM

Yuck.

Posted by: marcos_eirik Dec 27 2004, 09:11 AM

Well, I would say that answers like; eew, eek and yuck... is a bit too thin... As I wrote earlyer; if you think the Sagaris is anything else than frozen, write why...

My thoughts exactly

Its uncool. And its not like i dont like it its my favorite Tvr. However if you see some one in a Tvr it just screams mid life crisis!

Posted by: BAR_ZoNdA Jan 3 2005, 02:56 PM

its been alienated, i think they need to use the Sagaris hammer thingy and fix it up the front of it and the exhast that hangs out of the side makes the back of the car more ugly, it would be much better if they came out in front of the back wheel.
i give it cool cuz i love trv's tongue.gif

I can't beleive how many people say that.

I think it's cool to look at but it would be uncool if you had one, as you'd probably break down a lot and I don't know what it is, but it has something about it.

But I voted cool anyways!

Posted by: m_weinerich Jan 15 2005, 08:45 AM

Very COOL car. You feel like your in a batmobile driving it. thumbs_up.gif

Posted by: DRIV3R Jan 15 2005, 08:53 AM

Posted by: Synesthesia Dec 17 2007, 09:53 PM

A TVR that handles. SO HOLY SHIT FROZEN!!

Posted by: clarkma5 Dec 18 2007, 02:43 AM

If its interior weren't so willfully frivolous and unfunctional, I'd say frozen, but as it is, a very very solid cool.

Most TVRs can handle, you just have to be hell of a driver to take advantage of them.

I gave it a frozen.

Posted by: Bjorn Dec 18 2007, 05:54 AM

I saw one in British Racing Green and nearly wet myself.

I would move to Europe to own this car...although I would most likely be bankrupt by the time I moved to Europe, and couldn't afford any car, let alone a Sagaris...

Posted by: goota Dec 18 2007, 08:27 AM

Frozen, for a ridiculous performance beast that has an awesome start up sequence.

Okay true, but their "wait and see what happens" approach to handling before was cool in the sense that cars that try to kill you with horsepower are cool. But harnessing that power with some engineering while maintaining everything else that makes a TVR a TVR is brilliant.

You have to change the default search parameters to find older posts. In any case, a re-post it be. (merges topics)

So fucking cool. Subzero for sure.

Posted by: WackoWizard Dec 19 2007, 09:38 PM

After closer examination and a lot of confusion as to how this thread got mixed up with the older one i have decided to vote sub zer0.
